March 4, 2026: ■ The Kickoff Meeting for the Japan Academic Co-creation Organization for Falls (JACOF) Was Held
The kickoff meeting for the Japan Academic Co-creation Organization for Falls (JACOF) was held on March 4, 2026, in a hybrid format at Garden City Yokohama and online. During the meeting, President Izuru Umehara, Representative Director of the organization, and Professor Keisuke Shima introduced JACOF’s mission and business plans.
JACOF aims to advance the latest research on fall risk, which is also a focus of our laboratory, while promoting the standardization of related evaluation scales. The organization is expected to become closely involved with our laboratory’s activities in the future.

Feburary 2, 2026: Mr. Hayato Mikami, a third-year doctoral student, gave his doctoral dissertation defense.
Professor Koji Shimatani of Prefectural University of Hiroshima and Professor Yoshio Tsuchiya of Kagawa University also traveled from afar to attend, and the session featured lively discussion.After the defense, we held a gathering to thank him for his hard work, joined by alumni and members of UNTRACKED.
