- ■ M2 student, Mr. Mukaeda, has been selected as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Special Researcher (DC1) for the 2018 fiscal year!!
He is the second Ph.D. student in our lab and the second JSPS Special Researcher (DC1), following last year’s Ms. Sakata, making this an outstanding achievement!
Mr. Mukaeda graduated from the Kumamoto National College of Technology and entered our graduate school. His hard work under Professor O’s strict guidance since his high school days has certainly paid off.
We expect even greater success from him in the future. Congratulations!!

- ■ The following paper, co-authored with Professor Takagi of Hiroshima University, Mr. Mukaiya, Professor Tsuji, Dr. Chen from the Hyogo Prefectural Rehabilitation Center, and Professor Otsuka of Hiroshima City University, received the Best Paper Award!
The research on controlling five-finger prosthetic hands was highly praised, and I am very honored by this award. I will continue working hard on prosthetic-related research!

This year, we visited Izu again, just like two years ago. Izu is always interesting, even if we visit it regularly! - August 5-6, 2017
- ■ We introduced our laboratory at the Open Campus.
This year, we were able to conduct demonstrations in the new experimental laboratory environment.
I hope some of the attendees will become future laboratory members!
■ After the Open Campus, we had the annual big cleaning and end-of-term party. We had a blast with games we brought!
