2017/06/02 Research networking and visits
Dr. Takayuki Tanaka and Dr. Sei Kusaka of Hokkaido University visited us and gave lectures, visited our lab, and held research networking for graduate students. I hope to promote more research exchanges across universities like this.

It's time for the annual spring BBQ party.
This year, Takazawa and Satomoto, both graduates of the school joined us! It was very hot and sunny at the end of May.

Mukaeda (M2) gave a presentation at the Robotics Mechatronics conference 2017, held at Big Palette Fukushima, Japan
As a hidden Markov whiz, I successfully had discussions with various HMM researchers.
In the evening, Mukaeda also attended the reception. He handed out his freshly made business cards (forgot to take pictures)

The annual welcome party for new members was held at Mitsuzawa park. 7 members joined the group in 2017, bringing the total number to 19. However, the cherry blossoms were late, and it was cold...
2017/03/25 2017 IEICE general conference
Sato (M2) gave a presentation at 2017 IEICE general conference held at Meijo University.
The content of the presentation contented seemed unusual for the audience, and I believe that they were interested in it.
It was the first time someone from our lab participated in the conference, but it is good to present at a conference that you don't usually attend.
When in Nagoya, Misokatsu is a must-have. Good job to everyone!

2017/03/24 2016 batch Bachelors and masters graduation ceremony
While Sakura flowers have yet to blossom, two B4 students and four M2 students found jobs and will be entering workforce.

Sakata (D1) presented at the 22nd Robotics Symposia held at Hotel Isobe Garden (Isobe Onsen).
In Robotics Symposia, we have 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for Q&A to discuss our research. There are also overnight sessions, and we stayed overnight at the camp to discuss twice. #ForgotToTakePics
